Hey friends! My name is Julie, creator of Focus Joy. The "Joy" is in honor of my late mother Joy whom was my forever sidekick. Love you mom and I honor you each day and you are my angel. I get to tell the stories of amazing people and all of the happy events in their lives. I am so fortunate to have met all of the folks pictured here. I get to preserve continuity and freeze moments in time. I am a simple person who loves her family and friends relentlessly as you can see below. I am a South Texas girl who moved to Dallas by way of a fairytale come true. You see, I reconnected with my first love and he is now my forever partner, cheerleader and mentor and husband. I love you Blake for who you are. I have three wonderful children. Colton, Aubrey and Cooper you are my life and could not imagine a day without the joy you bring to me.
What makes me different?
Well, I don't like being like anyone else...
Never have. I don't like being that way in my photographs either. I don't want to just Pose here, Nice Pose there, okay now another Nice pose here. I like capturing the essence of each person I photograph, their spirit and their soul. You can't do that with the obligatory same five or six poses.​ My clients have fun with me. I am goofy and I make people feel comfortable and laugh. They genuinely walk away not only receiving amazing photographs, but a wonderful experience that they won't forget. I also deliver photos in less than a week (except for weddings) barring any unforeseen issues, sometimes less than that. I hope to meet you someday soon and become an extended member of your family and stop time for all the great moments in your life.
